Job Summary:

Disney Direct-to-Consumer (DTC), Platform Distribution (PD) and Disney Entertainment and ESPN Product & Technology (DEEPT) are business units within Disney Entertainment that manage the company’s direct-to-consumer streaming brands (Disney+, Hulu, Hulu + Live TV, and bundles), as well as all third-party media sales efforts for distribution, affiliate-related business operations and technology for all of the company's DTC services and linear media networks, and content sales agreements for Disney Entertainment and ESPN.

The multi-disciplined communications team is seeking an Internal Communications Specialist who will be an integral part of the team, working collaboratively with the team to engage employees across those three distinct business units.

Are you organized, willing to take on new challenges and eager to develop new ideas, systems and processes? If so, this may be the right for you!

We are looking for an internal comms fanatic — someone who loves telling great stories to our global audience of thousands of employees and is equally enthusiastic about managing all elements of the behind-the-scenes processes and stakeholder reviews. Passion around designing solutions to help the team grow and evolve, further fostering adoption of digital platforms, and continuously advancing the company's culture is a plus!

What You Will Do

  • Manage a holistic content calendar across the three business units, ensuring content is delivered on-time, with all appropriate reviews and approvals.

  • Create, ideate, research, and publish creative content and stories for digital internal platforms including written articles, short- & long-form videos related to business updates, HR/enterprise initiatives, uplifting news, and more.

  • Assist with employee events such as employee town halls, executive Q&A’s, milestone/product launch celebrations, and more.

  • Find new ways to increase adoption of digital platforms including the company’s intranet, articles, newsletters, invites, and materials that support communications events, projects, and initiatives.

  • Seek new ways to increase connection with employees by developing original content that elevates the stories of our employees through videos and written spotlights, providing our people and executives with a platform to make their voices, stories, and contributions to our segment heard.

  • Create, maintain, and organize information on digital platforms including but not limited to project management tools, intranet pages, hubs for segment/enterprise-wide initiatives, and more.

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • 2+ years’ professional experience in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Journalism or related field

  • A portfolio of communications projects that demonstrates skills, mastery of grammar rules, and ability to adapt tone/style to a variety of audiences

  • Excellent writing, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills working with colleagues across departments at all levels

  • Well organized, with strong relationship building and time management skills

  • Ability to take direction from multiple stakeholders, balance numerous projects simultaneously, prioritize deadlines, and effectively work in a fast-paced environment

  • Able to work independently but confident enough to ask for guidance and input when needed

  • Handle confidential information with utmost discretion

  • A can-do attitude, and an appreciation for the Disney brand!

Preferred qualifications:

  • Event planning or coordination experience

  • Experience growing communications platforms and tools that can foster large audience adoption

Required Education:

  • BA or BS required or equivalent experience, preferably with a background in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Journalism or related field
