SHIPBOARD

How do I apply to a Shipboard position with Disney Cruise Line?

Visit our home page and select your location of residency (must have a valid passport in the country selected), and this will take you to a page specific to your country of residence. On this page, you will find additional details, such as available roles and your Procurement Ally information.

What are the requirements to work onboard?

Requirements to work onboard could vary per position. There are minimum experience requirements for each position in addition to logistical requirements such as the ability to obtain a passport, pass a background and medical check, and obtain proper visas.

Will I have the opportunity to advance in a career with Disney Cruise Line?

Disney Cruise Line enables and encourages crew to develop their knowledge and skills in every single position and aims to be a culture of growth and development. Once onboard transfer requirements are met for new crew members, you can explore the world of possibilities across all of our different teams.

In addition, at the beginning of a career with Disney Cruise Line, all new crew members and officers receive in-depth onboarding and training so they are set up for success to connect with The Walt Disney Company, feel comfortable in their position, and engage with guests and crew members.

Is safety a priority onboard a Disney Cruise Line ship?

Ensuring the safety of our fellow crew and guests is of the highest priority, and everyone plays a part. Each crew member, regardless of role, will have safety responsibilities onboard and attend in-depth training across all areas of the ship to ensure a safe and secure environment. Together, we hold one another accountable to do the right thing, maintaining our superior standard of safety and service.

What is the average contract length?

Contract lengths are based on position and operational need and vary from 3 to 8 months. The average contract length for most positions is 4-6 months.

Which ship will I work on?

Ship placement is dependent on operational needs. Extended contracts are to work for Disney Cruise Line, and specific ship assignments will be communicated before onboarding. We encourage candidates to be open to working on any of our ships when they first apply and on future contracts.

What are the living accommodations for crew members?

When working onboard, crew cabin type and assignment will be based upon the position a crew member is offered. Most crew members onboard share a cabin with one or more crew members. Each cabin is functional yet small in size and equipped with an individual bed for each crew member and a bathroom, small lockable area, desk, TV/DVD player, mini-refrigerator, telephone and small closet with compact additional storage space. A limited number of positions may be assigned a single cabin.

In addition to your cabin, a variety of dedicated spaces for crew are available for relaxation and enjoyment including a 24-hour crew gym, recreation room, outdoor deck, crew pool (varies based on ship assignment) and so much more! Crew members can also grab a quick meal or sit and eat while enjoying conversation with their fellow crew members in the crew dining and bar area.

What non work-related activities are available to crew members?

Crew Engagement Managers are onboard Disney Cruise Line to provide fun and relaxing opportunities for crew members to wind down after a day at work. From trivia nights and karaoke to special movie premieres uniquely for crew members, there are a number of special experiences for the team.
