The Disney+ Global Subscriber Engagement and Content Programming team is responsible for leading content planning, scheduling, on-service merchandising, and slate management across our iconic brands, including Walt Disney Animation Studios, Walt Disney Pictures, Marvel Studios, Lucasfilm, Pixar, Disney Branded Television, National Geographic, 20th Century Studios, and Searchlight Pictures.
The Content Programming Associate Manager supports the Disney+ Content Programming & Editorial Strategy division within the Disney+ Global Subscriber Engagement and Content Programming organization. They collaborate with internal programming, planning, scheduling and insights teams along with domestic and international stakeholders across Marketing, Operations, Creative, and Product to facilitate the editorial strategy and merchandising of global priority titles, campaigns, and initiatives.
Reporting to the Senior Manager of Content Programming & Editorial Strategy, the Content Programming Associate Manager will have experience in editorial curation within a streaming service, content strategy, and a proven background in project management to assist in the day-to-day management of Airtable trackers, as well as provide support for ad-hoc data analysis as needed. The role will help inform merchandising plans including editorial naming and day-to-day content promo management including calendaring, title prioritization, building, publishing, and creative readiness. This person will collaborate cross functionality and should be an excellent communicator, collaborator, and contributor.
Job Summary:
- Own day-to-day US content promo flighting including tracking asset deliveries and activation scheduling
- Assist in developing strategic content programming plans that maximize audience engagement and retention
- Collaborate on regional and territorial editorial merchandising and promotion
- Sustain and contribute to title planning, seasonal and cultural moment campaigns, and company tentpoles
- Partner with teammates and cross functional partners to draft new and iterate editorial workflows and frameworks that create scalable and agile solutions
- Assist with day-to-day global framework management, communication workflow with global teams, campaign calendars, and content programming tools
- Facilitate verbal and written communications between teams, and to the larger organization to ensure smooth information-sharing, issue resolution, and workload transitions
- Partner with programming data and insights leads to adapt programming efforts based on findings
- Perform ad-hoc CMS scheduling and merchandising building related to merchandising updates, editorial mocks, or launch posturing.
Responsibilities and Duties of the Role:
- Utilize GoogleSheets, Airtable, and CMS to track, plan, schedule, validate, and report content promo activations
- Develop strategic content programming plans that maximize audience engagement while protecting the TWDC brand and editorial voice
- Effectively communicate and socialize global editorial plans to regional and local merchandising teams
- Draft editorial frameworks under the guidance of their manager for new merchandising strategies.
- Build, publish, and maintain Disney+ sets and pages in the CMS
- Ensure published programming is validated across audiences, platforms, and regions
- Create editorial mocks for leadership review and presentation in the CMS
- Partner with Senior Content Programming Insights Manager to track content promo insights and craft into presentations for multi-tiered executive review
- Partner with programming data and insights leads to adapt programming efforts based on findings
Required Education, Experience/Skills/Training:
- Bachelor’s degree minimum
- 2+ years experience in digital media, programming, and marketing
- 1+ years experience with general entertainment and international content experience a plus
Skills and Capabilities
- Superior organizational, prioritization, and time management skills; ability to execute against multiple, high-priority projects, with a keen attention to detail
- Strong emotional intelligence and communication skills
- Able to be nimble and adapt quickly to new technologies and processes
- Perpetual learner’s attitude, always looking for ways to improve processes and learn and grow
- Understanding of TWDC and general entertainment content libraries, brands, franchises, and characters
- Team player with a strong work ethic and high level of confidentiality
- Additional language and character set fluency (written) a plus
- An understanding of publishing on digital media platforms, including hands-on CMS publishing and management of web, app, streaming, and connected devices
- Strategic, creative, and entrepreneurial mindset
- Must be open to thinking outside of traditional models
- Well-developed written and verbal communications skills. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively
- Strong data literacy
- Demonstrated ability to thrive working in an extremely fast-paced environment
The hiring range for this position in California is $70,000.00 to $93,800.00 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
