Job Summary:

As a Sr Quality Assurance Engineer at Disney, you will be a part of the core team that builds the Disneyland, My Disney Experience (Disney World) and Hong Kong Disney mobile apps for iPhone and Android platforms. The apps are used directly by park guests to enhance and guide their visits to the park to make their experience as magical as possible. 

In this role as a Sr QA Engineer you will be helping lead the daily efforts of the QA team and coordinating with developers, tech managers, RM, GQE and other platform feature teams. In addition, this role will require you to help manually verify mobile applications, develop automation using Appium and Typescript, maintain test plans, and manage daily tasks in an Agile environment. 

Primary Responsibilities 

  • Provide leadership and direction to improve the efficiency of the QA team. 

  • Maintain quality standards for mobile apps. 

  • Manage, develop and maintain test automation using Appium and Typescript. 

  • Ensure that automated tests are integrated and executed reliably in our CI/CD environments. 

  • Analyze upcoming platform features and service integrations for test coverage. 

  • Creating test plans and test cases. 

  • Work between platform feature teams and across integration partners to ensure that defects are properly prioritized and driven to resolution. 

  • Work with the Agile teams to represent the QA team. 

  

Basic Qualifications 

  • 5+ years overall experience working in QA. 

  • Experience running automation for a mobile app using Appium and Typescript including project kickoff, milestone planning/tracking, and shipping to mobile app stores. 

  • Working knowledge of code management tools such as Git or other source control tools. 

  • Working knowledge of Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) systems. 

  • Strong understanding of Computer Science fundamentals. 

  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills. 

  • Experience creating, maintaining, and managing manual and automated test cases. 

  

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Knowledge of mobile technologies including but not limited to; Flutter, Swift, Swift-UI, Kotlin, Java, Objective-C, Android, iOS, Gherkin, REST APIs, and Couchbase, Mongo DB. 

  • Experience with Jira and QTest tools. 

  • Experience with Jenkins, Harness and SonarQube. 

  • Experience with Proxy tools. 

  • Strong analytical, design and problem-solving skills.  

  • Proactively solve problems and suggest process improvements. 

  • Eagerness to learn new technologies and a strong desire to be challenged technically. 

  

Education 

  • Bachelor of Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field/work experience.

The hiring range for this position in Washington is $120,300.00-$154,300.00 per year, in Glendale California is $115,900.00-$150,000.00 per year, and in Anaheim California is $115,900.00-$150,000.00 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
