
Executive Producer, ABC News Live Prime
Job Summary:
ABC News Live (ABCNL) is looking for an Executive Producer to lead the #1 streaming channel's flagship show "Prime with Linsey Davis" and oversee its primetime coverage from 7pm-midnight. The ideal candidate should be an exceptionally strong live television producer, excited about breaking news but calm under pressure, a strong storyteller including in the longform space, a creative collaborator and understand the state of streaming and the future of news in the non-linear space.
Responsibilities:
The candidate should be ready to take the helm of what has become one the most honored programs in television news. This person must be able to work with on-air talent, both from a producing/writing perspective while in the control room and have a strong background and understanding of the needs of 24/7 news. The candidate will also creatively lead the content engine of ABCNL and work closely with ABC News Live's Executive Director on developing special programming. As the Executive Producer of Prime, the candidate should be an expert when it comes to the control room, strategizing on high profile bookings, and developing stand out longform content. The candidate will collaborate with leaders throughout the news division and make sure resources are shared and the workflows of both entities are working together.
The candidate should also help manage ABCNL's relationships with studio & field production teams, graphics, HR and be a champion of innovative, highly collaborative, diverse culture that promotes idea generation, open communication, respect for others, and excellence. The candidate must also be willing to travel on occasion for breaking news.
Qualifications:
A minimum of 10 years of live producing experience in one or more of the following areas: broadcast, cable, major local news market, streaming news. Candidates should have extensive live control room and longform experience as well as excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Knowledge of iNews (or other similar producing software).
Required Education:
Bachelor’s degree (TV/Film/Journalism or related field) or equivalent work experience.
The hiring range for this position in New York, NY is $255,800.00 to $343,000.00 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
