Job Summary

Senior Publicity Specialist- Disney+ will spearhead developing and executing communication and publicity strategies and plans for local content titles on Disney+, managing media and talent-based activations, and collaborating with agencies. The candidate is expected to be a thought leader well-versed in industry trends and innovations with outstanding communication skills.

In order to integrate and align PR opportunities and cultivate the Disney+ fan base, the role requires close daily collaboration with key stakeholders, including the APAC marketing and publicity team, external PR agencies, and marketing/production partners.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement comprehensive communication and publicity strategies for Disney+ local content titles.
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute impactful publicity campaigns, including media and talent-based activations.
  • Collaborate closely with external PR agencies, marketing teams, and production partners to ensure seamless integration and alignment of PR opportunities.
  • Effectively handle media and press opportunities to optimize media coverage.
  • Manage the preparation and dissemination of publicity materials to relevant stakeholders.
  • Oversee press activities and events related to title campaigns, such as talent tours, interviews, press conferences, showcases, etc.
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with media outlets and key industry contacts to maximize media coverage.
  • Work collaboratively with internal teams, particularly the APAC marketing and publicity team, to build and strengthen the Disney+ fan base.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and innovations, serving as a thought leader within the organization.
  • Ensure smooth communication throughout all aspects of publicity campaigns.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 to 7 years of experience in publicity or marketing, preferably with a focus on global or local content within the entertainment or streaming platforms sector.
  • Strong understanding of current media landscapes and trends.
  • Demonstrated flexibility to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
  • A proactive communicator with a can-do attitude and a strong commitment to achieving objectives.
  • Excellent collaborative, teamwork, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strategic thinking abilities to navigate complex challenges.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills.
  • Proven experience in working with external PR agencies and managing talent-based activations.
  • Familiarity with Disney+ content and brand.
  • Innovative and creative mindset with a keen eye for impactful storytelling.
  • A team player with a collaborative and positive approach.
  • Fluency in both written and spoken English and Korean.
