Facilities Electrician

You will be responsible for daily monitoring, maintenance (corrective/preventative) of building utility equipment and systems of a five-story commercial office building. In addition, this position will be supporting a television production studio to include sound stages and supporting data centers.
A Day in the Life of a Facilities Engineer…
Oversee power management for the facility, including lighting schedules, monthly cost and trends.
Maintain and observe all Safety and Security policies in all operations. Maintain and observe all Safety and Security policies and work with the Safety and Security Department on such programs as Regulation 4 Testing, Fire Life Safety (FLS) systems and environmental efforts.
Oversee electrical projects and on-site work, including space expansion or systems maintenance.
Ensure a comprehensive and detailed Preventive Maintenance Program in the areas of all Electrical, Lighting and building services equipment. Service equipment internally, contract vendors as needed and keep accurate records.
Obtain bids and proposals from vendors to complete necessary work at the Los Angeles Production Company (LAPC). Coordinate with vendors and service providers to perform necessary repairs and upgrades
Maintain electrical operations and familiarity of all aspects of the Los Angeles Production Company (LAPC) HVAC system including chillers, building automation systems (BAS), water treatment, humidifiers, cooling towers, air handlers, fan coils, boilers and chill water lines.
Maintain operations and familiarity of all aspects of the Los Angeles Production Company (LAPC) Electrical system including Primary Switch Gear, Generators, uninterrupted power supplies (UPS) Diesel testing, cabling, and Automatic Transfer Switches.
Maintain operations and familiarly of all aspects of the Los Angeles Production Company (LAPC) Lighting systems to include all Lighting Control Panels (LCP’s).
Assist the team with the maintenance of all aspects of the Los Angeles Production Company (LAPC) HVAC systems.
Assist the team with the maintenance of all aspects of the Los Angeles Production Company (LAPC) Plumbing systems.
Provide on-site coverage during all production windows and applicable vendor work.
Maintain a clean and safe working environment, perform scheduled building electrical inspections and initiate corrective work orders.
Respond to off-hour emergencies as needed and problem-Solve maintenance issues for the Los Angeles Production Company (LAPC) building in Los Angeles and the Radio Disney transmitter site in Burbank.
Act as a member of the Emergency Response Team and monitor a Fire Alarm Control System
Maintain and update work orders in a CMMS and utilize software programs to generate electronic communication, logs and reports
Read and analyze blueprints for troubleshooting purposes and to assess major projects
Utilize electric test equipment for troubleshooting and supporting the site LOTO program
Flexibility to a work schedule that is fluid and demands after-hours work including holidays and weekends to support on-site Facility and Production needs.
This position will be assigned to a 10am-7pm or a 3pm to 12am shift dependent on Facility needs
Here’s what you will need to succeed…
+3 years or more of experience working with high rise building electrical components (medium and low voltage system)
Certified in arc flash work
Basic knowledge of Motor Control Centers and Variable Automation Systems
Basic knowledge of HVAC systems (AHUs, chillers, pumps, motors, cooling towers)
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Able to understand Blueprints
Understanding of Digital Multi-meters and their use. Experience using arc flash equipment
Understanding and ability to work with work orders and a CMMS
Education is important to us, here is what we are looking for…
Trade School/Apprenticeship Certification, or Associate’s degree in a Maintenance related field (i.e. Facilities or Maintenance Management, HVAC, or Electrical)
It Would be a plus if you had these skills…
Journeyman Level Certification or Bachelor’s degree in a maintenance related field (i.e. Electrical, Facilities, or Maintenance Management)
+10 years’ experience working with Building electrical system, supporting other disciplines (i.e. HVAC, plumbing, control etc.)
Mid to high level experience working on Motor Control Centers and Variable Frequency Drives
Technician level understanding of Building Automation Systems
Ability to understanding Blueprints & Specifications
Experience with managing a Computerized Maintenance Management Systems

The hiring range for this position in Santa Monica is $71,000 to $95,100 per year based on a 40 hour work week. The amount of hours scheduled per week may vary based on business needs. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
