Reporting to the Director of Strategy and Transformation, this individual will support and influence the strategic direction of Parks Product Development & Retail organization by implementing and refining strategies to support long-term growth.

While delivering innovation, this individual will work on the crucial initiatives that will equip The Walt Disney Company to unlock its next waves of innovation, increased value and leverage to the organization!

What You Will Do

  • Develop and Implement Sustainable Strategies for Long Term Growth
  • Contribute to strategic vision and objectives of the Parks Product Development & Retail (PPDR) group through support of long-range plans
  • Implement consumer-led, and product-specific business strategies for priority initiatives that create long-term value for the segment
  • Lead relationships with key internal partners to drive strategies and initiatives. (Corporate Alliance, Operating Participants, Site Operations, Disney Consumer Products)
  • Supervise ongoing results of key initiatives & critical metrics while proactively recommending adjustments based on business need or market indicators (balance goal setting and learning on the fly)
  • Maintain a strong awareness of the global merchandise business, including knowledge of licensed, vertical, and flexible business models
  • Act as Strategic Program Management Center of Excellence by remaining advised on critical business and industry topics, assessing in-flight strategies, and identify alternatives (as needed) based on business needs
  • Use data and analytics – internal and externally – to build compelling business cases in close partnership with finance and senior leaders
  • Develop project plans to support organizational initiatives, craft tactics to achieve objectives and lead cross-functional execution
  • Drive engagement and initiative success through consistent, thorough and well-organized project management
  • Identify and implement critical change management strategies to ensure initiatives are successful
  • Prepare and present cohesive materials on initiatives to senior executive leadership applying compelling visuals
  • Lead competing priorities and consistently navigate ambiguity and complexity
  • Provide Line-of-Sight Visibility and Critical Connection Across Parks Product Development & Retail
  • Provide line-of-sight to Director on high-priority initiatives and daily business issues
  • Demonstrate political savviness with keen understanding of how organizations function and ability to influence peers and leaders
  • Build and champion collaborative partnerships across functions and departments within Disney Experiences (DX) to identify business opportunities and risks and then prioritize solutions, drive alignment and implement changes on behalf of PPDR
  • Lead multi-functional project teams to deliver new business initiatives and/or evolve existing strategies
  • Create a positive environment where partners are motivated to do their best to help the organization achieve its objectives
  • Prepare executive level presentations in PowerPoint and/or Keynote
  • Partner with senior leadership to develop and implement communication strategies and presentations that align with our vision, mission and goals through relevant messaging and storytelling
  • Leading direct reports and Develop High Performing Team
  • Lead multi-functional teams to deliver new business initiatives
  • Proven track record of building high-performing teams with strong sense of ownership and accountability
  • Passion for developing people with a focus on ongoing improvement to support the organization’s needs
  • Create and maintain a positive team environment focused on “what’s possible”
  • Encourage diverse thinking to promote and cultivate innovation

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Validated 6 years of experience in a related field
  • Experience in Merchandising/Planning for a vertical specialty retail environment
  • Validated analytical capabilities
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills – probes for answers and looks beyond the obvious, can see hidden problems and proactively addresses them, grounded in the big picture
  • Proven track record of excelling at working in—or with—large matrixed organizations
  • Superior communication skills and capacity to develop and deliver presentations, including validated competency in creating strong, visually compelling materials via PowerPoint or Keynote
  • Standout colleague with dedication to building strong partnerships with cross-functional teams
  • Expertise in project management with ability to balance shifting priorities to lead and deliver sophisticated projects on time

Education

  • Bachelor Degree in relevant field of study

Preferred Education

  • Master's Degree
