About the Role & Program:

The Walt Disney Company (TWDC) Global Security, Asset Protection & Risk Team is responsible for program integration focused on safeguarding people, assets, and brand within Disney’s Retail Commercialization businesses (i.e., Stores, eCommerce, Wholesale, Licensing, Games, Publishing, etc.).

The Asset Protection (AP) team handles incident mitigation, workplace security, profit protection, and investigations in the Retail environment, while the Risk/Safety team focuses on Occupational Safety and Crisis program development in Retail environments.

This internship is a full-time, six-month commitment in the Glendale, CA area from June 2025-January 2026.

What You Will Do:

The Asset Protection and Risk Intern plays an important role in supporting risk mitigation in both retail and corporate environments across TWDC. The intern will assist in the development of Asset Protection & Risk Training and Awareness Programs, while also coordinating support for various projects. Responsibilities include support in the creation and delivery of key communication, project support for department initiatives, and performing administrative tasks.

  • Assist in the development and implementation of the AP & Risk programs by assisting with program planning, development, training, and execution

  • Craft clear and concise security communications that resonate with the internal audiences across business units. Effectively utilize posters, emails, newsletters, PowerPoint and in-person training sessions

  • Create concise AP & Risk related communication for internal audiences across business units using posters, emails, newsletters, PowerPoint and video monitors

  • Monitor project progress, identify potential roadblocks, and implement mitigation strategies to ensure successful project completion

  • Foster strong relationships within the AP & Risk team and various stakeholders to facilitate effective collaboration and implementation of AP & Risk initiatives, awareness materials, policies, and guidelines

  • Support the department on various projects as needed

Required Qualifications & Skills:

  • An interest in Asset Protection (Loss Prevention) and/or Risk

  • Strong writing, communications, partnering and interpersonal skills

  • Self-starter with demonstrated initiative, attention to detail, the ability to multitasks and organize priorities

  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment

  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information

  • Strong Technical Skills: Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint and Excel), Adobe illustrator and Photoshop

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with Smartsheet or other Project Management Software

  • Project management experience

Education:

  • Junior or Senior preferred

  • Major or previous coursework in Risk Management, Security, Project Management, Communications, Business Management or other related field of study

Eligibility Requirements & Program Information:

Candidates for this opportunity MUST meet all of the below requirements:

  • Be enrolled in an accredited college/university pursuing a degree taking at least one class at time of application OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship. 

    • Current Disney Interns, College, International, or Culinary Program Participants:  You may only work for ONE consecutive year (12 months) in any combination of an internship and/or program.

  • Be at least 18 years of age

  • Possess unrestricted work authorization 

Additional Information:

  • Candidate must be fully available to work full time hours (approximately 40 hours per week) for the duration of the internship.

  • This internship is an on-site/in-office position, but also requires a working, reliable internet connection as well as a quiet, dedicated workspace for the days you may work from home.

  • Able to provide your own housing and reliable transportation for the duration of the internship program

The pay rate for this role in California is $22.00 per hour.
