Job Summary:
About the Role & Program
Through innovative storytelling and a culture of collaboration, Disney Live Entertainment creates, produces, and delivers remarkable and engaging entertainment experiences. From the intimate to the spectacular, our work can be seen at Disney theme parks, resort hotels, cruise ships, and other locations the world over! Our diverse team – representing a wide variety of disciplines and talents from technical directors, writers, and lighting designers to choreographers, cosmetologists, and music producers – brings magical worlds to life through technical expertise, performance excellence, incomparable ingenuity, unparalleled spectacle…and a dash of pixie dust!
Our Costume Support team supports costume inventory management and handles the life cycle of fabrics for The Walt Disney Company Worldwide. If selected as a Customer Support intern, you will report to the Area Manager of Character Inventory.
This is a full-time 6-month internship (dates are January 11th, 2025, through June 7th, 2025).
What You Will Do
Our Team is integral in ensuring we provide the best possible customer service to our sites and cast as we fulfill their costume needs. On any given day, the intern could assist with Corporate Character Costume orders, work with our Materials Handling team, support Operational garment needs, or focus on a site-specific project.
- Perform SAP transactions such as organizing cycle counts, order processing, and costing that ensure accurate Costume inventory
- Prepare journal entries and run month-end processing requirements
- Review, analyze, and quality check data, identifying and elevating discrepancies for resolution and partnering with internal Costume team members to reconcile payment or quantities discrepancies with accounts payable
- Prepare documentation for international sales and shipments
- Forecasting material purchasing needs and space planning efforts
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office tools such as Excel, Word, and Smartsheet
- Knowledge of accounting and purchasing practices such as Accounts Payable
- Self-starter with the ability to multi-task with strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- Theater or performing background, ideal
Education
Be enrolled in an accredited college/university, taking at least one class in the semester/quarter (spring/fall) prior to participation in the internship program OR must have graduated from a college/university within 6 months at the time of application posting OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship.
- Currently enrolled as a Junior, Senior, recent graduate, or graduate student
- Major or previous coursework in Business, Supply chain, Finance, Data Management, Fashion Merchandising, Costume Technology, Apparel Buying, Apparel Development, Sourcing, or related field
Candidates for this opportunity MUST meet all of the requirements below
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Possess unrestricted work authorization
- Have not completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or Program
- Available to work full-time hours (approximately 40 hours per week) for the duration of the internship
- Able to provide own housing in the Orlando, FL area and have reliable transportation to/from work (We provide limited housing opportunities for Florida-based Professional Interns through American Campus Communities; for more information, click here)
