Coordinator, Platform Distribution Operations

Platform Distribution Operations develops and supports the distribution of products and services that create value for The Walt Disney Company, our partners, and our fans.  As part of the Platform Distribution team, Platform Distribution Operations provides product strategy, product implementation, project management, monetization support, content delivery execution, live event management, and sales support on behalf of The Walt Disney Company for linear and digital products, SVOD/AVOD, syndication, content and transactional sales with existing and emerging global distribution partners. The team also supports the rollout and expansion of Disney+, ESPN+, Star and Hulu.

Platform Distribution Operations is focused on the design and implementation of business processes for efficient management and operation of all media distribution including theatrical, linear networks, SVOD/AVOD, FAST (Free Ad-Supported TV), ESPN Audio, transactional, airlines, news aggregators, syndication and direct-to-consumer products. Providing pre-sale and sales support, post-sale execution, and partner management, this role will assist the various teams within Platform Distribution Operations including Technical Negotiations, Data and Advertising, Network Management and Rights Management with day-to-day business needs.

The Platform Distribution Operations Coordinator will support multiple initiatives simultaneously that will drive process improvement and integration for content distribution across various lines of business.  This role will collaborate closely with Platform Distribution Sales, Technology, Disney Streaming, and other technology and operations teams within TWDC, as well as, external distribution partners, software and hardware vendors, content delivery service providers and consultants to facilitate relationship management, new product deployment, platform launches, and system requests, including new functionality, escalations, and enhancements. The Platform Distribution Operations Coordinator will support multiple initiatives simultaneously that will drive process improvement and revenue generation for content distribution across various lines of business.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with business stakeholders and various technology and operations teams to project manage multiple operational initiatives simultaneously, including creating project roadmaps, informing timelines, identifying key milestones, status updates and maintaining consistent data

  • Participate in the launch of new distribution partners and new content to existing partners to support distribution and revenue growth

  • Work closely with team members to fulfill contractual obligations regarding the technical aspects of delivery, data, measurement, advertising with our distribution partners

  • Support the distribution sales teams in deal negotiations by providing subject matter expertise related to delivery, advertising, data and/or measurement

  • Support the process for content delivery of linear networks, FAST channels, audio, and VOD content across set-top-box, mobile, PC and other digital platforms, SVOD, AVOD, PVOD, electronic home video and airlines

  • Support and assist with Rights Management related tasks and initiatives (e.g., confirming distribution and music rights for various first and third-party platforms

  • Collaborate with various teams including sales, finance, research and others to support monetization (e.g., forecasting, revenue analysis) and inform technology roadmaps

  • Coordinate initial deal renewal questionnaire process

  • Identify and review contractual language for strategic analysis

  • Maintain and organize documentation (e.g., project trackers, reporting maintenance, delivery specs, data, manage boilerplate documents and contractual language)

  • Assist the team in the development of presentations, training materials, and reports

  • Summarize distribution sales meetings and provide key advertising/data references to the team

  • Create and build relationships with counterparts across TWDC in sales, operations, production, digital media, legal, accounting, etc. and externally with distributors, business partners, vendors, and technology developers to aid in self-learning, support job functions, and to advance the goals of Platform Distribution

  • Support contract negotiations with vendors to secure services and monetization capabilities

  • Curate business specific information on B2B proprietary websites (e.g., Affiliate Zone) and perform system admin duties as needed

  • Receive and review reporting from partner data feeds or internal measurement reports

  • System-level maintenance on distributor database (e.g., AIS, Business Intelligence, Syndi, WordPress, Cerebro)

  • Live event coordination (e.g., blackouts, megaphone authorization, metadata validation)

  • Verify contractual compliance (e.g., measurement, advertising, usage rules, authentication, delivery)

  • Digital advertising audit by platform

  • Contribute to a team environment that is open and inclusive and encourages candor, communication and collaboration

Required experience:

  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, presentation, writing, relationship building, collaboration, negotiation, customer service and computer skills (Word/ Excel/ Outlook/ PowerPoint) required

  • Ability to manage and properly prioritize numerous near-term projects while also setting a strong foundation for accomplishing medium/long term efforts

  • Strong attention to detail and accountability

  • Able to see tasks through to completion with minimal guidance

  • Some travel and non-traditional work hours may be required depending on business needs

  • Bachelor’s Degree required

The hiring range for this position in Bristol, CT is $58,400 - $71,300 per year. The hiring range for this position in NYC, NY is $61,200 - $74,800 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
