The Disney Experiences Learning Strategy team is a global, segment-focused organization that develops and leads learning initiatives for Executives, Leaders, and Professionals. These initiatives include leadership and executive development programs, targeted offerings, and events at various leader transition and career growth points.
The Disney Experiences Learning Strategy team is seeking a Learning Content Curator & Design Manager for a full-time salaried role based in Glendale (CA), reporting to the Sr. Manager, Learning Strategy. This role supports the design, development, and facilitation of learning content for programs supporting leaders of all levels. This role blends learning design, consulting, and facilitation skills, and it partners with multiple organizations and individuals to deliver learning products and services.
Responsibilities
- Partner with key clients and learning colleagues to develop holistic learning strategies that build skills and capabilities, engagement that drives performance, integration with client systems, and results for complex businesses.
- Apply learning theory/models, benchmark best practices/trends, and maintain knowledge of cutting-edge approaches in order to deliver learning solutions that drive lasting impact; Rigorously keep up with consulting/training industry trends to provide effective and meaningful learning solutions to client groups.
- Leverage Instructional Systems Design (ISD) approach to curate existing learning and development content, work with the Enterprise Center of Excellence (COE) to identify new content needs for learning and development experiences.
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships across the HR and business community; Build deep knowledge and understanding of multiple businesses to interpret needs and challenges, proactively recommend sophisticated learning solutions, and determine readiness for these solutions in close collaboration with senior management.
- In conjunction with PM, develop holistic measurement strategies to understand impact of learning for both the participant and the organization.
- Drive post-learning analysis and measurement/survey reviews with PM, clients, and partners to determine if further action is required to deepen learning experience. Curate and assemble content across a variety of different types of learning experiences such as virtual instructor-led, in person learning experiences, and self-directed learnings
- Ensure appropriate sourcing and licensing for all learning content in development.
- Maintain a clear understanding of various participant learning styles in order to present the best teaching and learning environment for diverse participants.
- Act as key thought partner in how to utilize existing learning and development resources and courses to develop leaders within The Walt Disney Company
Basic Qualifications
- 5 or more years of progressive experience in performance consulting, training, learning and development, organizational development, culture transformation and/or team development.
- Strong consultant skills and prioritization/organization skills in a fast-paced business and learning environment.
- Understanding and experience applying a variety of development approaches that span formal training, relationship-based, and experience-based development (70-20-10 model of development).
- Ability to facilitate highly complex content and agendas, adapting approach and style to a variety of audiences.
- Ability to quickly absorb organizational nuances and needs in order to “speak the language” of the client.
- Ability to gain credibility and influence executive audiences with strong executive communication skills.
- Demonstrated project management, organizational skills and confidentiality with sensitive information.
- Ability to synthesize large amounts of data to make strategic recommendations and the ability to see gaps and improve accuracy of data-driven decision making. Demonstrated ability to work with ambiguity and agility in a rapidly changing environment.
- Demonstrated business acumen and ability to stay abreast of industry and organizational knowledge.
- Demonstrate the ability to present a clear, thorough content strategy to various audiences and articulate how this approach supports the learning objectives defined. Ability to interact with multiple clients simultaneously and self-manage priorities with competing demands.
- Demonstrate exceptional presentation skills with both concepts and scripted content for a variety of audiences; ensure messaging is appropriate for each. As assigned by Leadership, facilitate programs and conduct a Train-the-Trainer as needed. Ability to build relationships with teams across units and geographies, adjusting style where appropriate.
- Demonstrated strong written, verbal and presentation skills.
- Demonstrated problem solving and decision-making skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience as a learning and development or performance consultant for a Fortune 100 company. Extensive knowledge in training and development models, adult learning theory or instructional design.
Experience with instructional facilitation for complex businesses that include a spectrum of employee types, from executive to entry-level including related certifications.
Required Education
BA/BS in Business, Education, Instructional Design, Psychology, Performance Consulting, Training/Curriculum Development, Communications, or related field – OR – Relevant equivalent experience.
Preferred Education
Advanced Degree in Education, Industrial Psychology, Organizational Behavior/Psychology, or Organizational Development/Effectiveness.
Formal certification/education/experience in applying learning models, adult development theory, or curriculum development.

The hiring range for this position in California is $111,900.00 - $136,700.00 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
