Job Summary:
About the Role & Team:
At Walt Disney Animation Studios, our mission is to bring captivating stories to life through innovation and artistry. We are seeking talented and passionate individuals for our Summer 2025 Technology Internship Program.
This posting serves as an expression of interest for multiple technical roles within various teams at our studio. As a Summer 2025 Technology Intern, you’ll have the opportunity to work on a range of projects that are integral to the creation of our animated films while learning from industry experts.
Our interns can work on projects involving:
Software Development: Collaborate with teams to develop and enhance tools, systems, and applications that support the animation pipeline and artist workflows, including web development, graphics engineering, and backend systems.
Systems Engineering: Assist in the design, implementation, and maintenance of IT and media systems, networking, contributing to infrastructure development, asset management, and hardware configuration to ensure seamless operations across the studio.
Technical Support: Provide desktop support and troubleshoot technical issues, working closely with the studio’s helpdesk and systems operations teams to ensure a smooth user experience for our artists and technologists. Our work often gives technologists the opportunity to interface with artists directly to triage issues.
User Experience Research: Support the development of tools and interfaces for animation, lighting, simulation, and material workflows, contributing to the creation of visual assets and optimizing processes within the studio's proprietary software systems.
Required Qualifications & Skills:

Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C++, JavaScript, or similar.
Familiarity with operating systems like macOS, Windows, or Linux, as well as experience with software tools such as Maya, Houdini, or similar.
Ability to rapidly ideate and test UI/UX design concepts and prototypes.
Strong communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
A passion for technology, animation, and storytelling.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with web frameworks (e.g., React, Vue.js).
Knowledge of DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes), or database management.
Familiarity with animation workflows, media systems, or IT asset management.
A strong interest in contributing to the development of cutting-edge tools and systems in an animation production environment.
Education:
Currently working toward a Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD with a major in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Digital Art, Animation, or a related field.
Program Details:
Location: Burbank, CA.
Program Length: May/June - August/September 2025 (12 weeks).
Full time, 40 hours per week.
Eligibility Requirements:
At the time of application:
Must be enrolled in an accredited college/university taking at least one class in the semester/quarter (spring/fall) prior to participation in the internship program AND returning to school the semester/quarter following the internship OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship.
Must be at least 18 years old
Must possess unrestricted work authorization and provide full availability for the entire program duration.
Must provide your own housing and transportation during the internship.
Have not completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or Disney College Program.

This posting is seeking candidates to fill multiple roles in Burbank, California.
