Job Summary:

The role supports the media business, advising Disney+ (Direct-To-Consumer) in Italy as well as the D2C and the linear channels business in Greece with a focus on marketing, advertising, regulatory and consumer law matters.
 

Working closely with the marketing, advertising sales, production, creative, CSR, finance and controllership teams, and with other members of the legal and privacy teams to ensure full compliance of marketing campaigns, promotions, events, partnership deals of Disney+ and the linear channels in Greece.

The role will require you to be onsite 4 days a week.
 

Key Tasks/Objectives  

  • Work closely and be first point of contact for Italy and Greece with EMEA Disney + team and DSS Disney+ team to provide advice and drafting relevant legal documentations in relation to Disney + new functionalities, updating, promotional offers, global promotional campaigns, events and new projects etc.  

  • Drafting, negotiation and provide advice to Disney+ local advertising team for ad  sales  agreements on Disney+. Work closely with EMEA team to ensure compliance with advertising regulation both for Italy and Greece. 

  • With reference to the linear channels business in Greece, work closely with local team and EMEA team to ensure compliance with regulatory framework requirements.  

  • Define issues, perform legal research, analyze problems, evaluate alternatives and make appropriate recommendations to the business providing ongoing legal analysis and counselling to internal teams in a wide range of legal areas, including intellectual property, digital media and regulatory, consumer law and data protection 

  • Review and analyse marketing campaigns and promotions and provide legal advise to the business to best structure the campaigns, events and/or the commercial deals; 

  • Drafting, negotiation and provide advice to local production team for promotional agreements, promotional content production, talent agreement, product placement, sponsoring and promotional activities related to local production content promotion. 

  • Works closely with the Health&Safety manager (RSPP) to address H&S matters in relation to Disney events and promotional activities and has good control of the H&S Italian legislation 

  • Monitors local and EU Law developments 

 

Deal Management  

  • Works closely with the direct-to-consumer EMEA and US team, marketing (DTC and performance) , creative, advertising and  production team and promotion teams to develop deal negotiating strategy and deal structure, optimizing potential rights structures consistently with Disney approach in EMEA 

Experience & Professional Qualifications

  • Qualified lawyer with a minimum of 8 years PQE, in private practice (within media/entertainment sector) or in a media/entertainment business, or a combination of both

  • Excellent knowledge of contract and commercial law, consumer law, copyright, data protection, European digital strategy regulatory framework

  • Significant contract drafting experience 

  • Television and/or digital media experience (preferably in distribution and/or streaming)

Other

  • Fluent English is required for the role

  • Greek language would be a plus
