We create amazing experiences that celebrate the best of entertainment and technology. We’re looking for great people who are passionate about redefining TV through innovation, unconventional thinking and embracing fun. It’s a mission that takes some serious smart, intense curiosity and determination to be the best.  Come be part of the team that’s powering play.

SUMMARY

Hulu’s Content Partnerships team is seeking a Senior Manager who will be an exceptional addition to our team.  As a Senior Manager in the Content Partnerships team, you will report directly to the Director, Content Partnerships and work closely with department leadership as an integral part of the group responsible for growing Hulu’s live linear service (Hulu + Live TV) and managing premiums (e.g. Max, Paramount+ with Showtime, Starz) and add-on services.  You will assist the Content Partnerships team with strategy and carriage agreement negotiations with major broadcast and cable TV networks and other premiums or add-ons.  The right person for this role is a self-starter, eager to learn, well-versed in the streaming media ecosystem and experienced in navigating cross-functional relationships within and outside an organization.  This person has exceptional communication and organizational skills and is able to work with networks, content providers and internal stakeholders to build consensus around strategies and opportunities. This person will also have knowledge and interest in linear and on-demand content distribution, direct-to-consumer technology, sports rights and programming. Finally, this person thinks big, learns quickly, and approaches everything with enthusiasm.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Lead negotiations under Director/VP on major renewals of Hulu + Live TV’s carriage agreements with broadcast and cable TV networks, premiums (e.g. Max, Paramount+ with Showtime, Starz) and other add-ons.  Manage all internal deal processes, including financial analysis, contract review, collaboration with internal stakeholders, technical requirements, and cross-department signoffs
  • Manage relationships with various content partners and serve as primary point person on promotional initiatives, technical onboarding and contract negotiation
  • Prepare economic offers via financial modeling, and analyze partner performance using data metrics
  • Collaborate with leadership and other internal stakeholders on developing content strategy for Hulu, including but not limited to sports, premium add-ons, and live events
  • Manage long-term and ad-hoc projects to support the broader strategy of the Content Partnerships team and Hulu overall
  • Collaborate with Strategy/Business Development teams across The Walt Disney Company on future business opportunities, forecasting market trends and delivering on wider company objectives

WHAT TO BRING

  • Bachelor’s degree and MBA a plus (but not required)
  • 5+ years entertainment/technology experience, with 3+ years of relationship management with a media/technology focus
  • Significant experience in licensing and distribution deals for content with TV networks, content studios, or other licensors, with a strong ability to independently lead negotiations with external partners as well as manage cross-functional stakeholders
  • Ability to quickly get up-to-speed and thrive in an evolving and fast-paced environment, prioritizing and handling multiple projects concurrently, often with little supervision or lack of established process.
  • Excels in building and delivering presentations to executives and external partners, and able to translate business objectives for stakeholders across the company, including product, finance, marketing, legal and accounting.  Excellent attention to detail, and strong financial modeling and presentation skills (including Powerpoint and Excel).
  • Passion for entertainment, TV, sports and technology with a deep knowledge of the evolution of the digital/media industries
  • Willingness to travel (10-15%)
