About the Role & Team
Be part of a global team whose mission is to bring to Disney the best the marketplace has to offer by optimally driving Strategic Sourcing engagements and planning activities within the scope of spend supported by the Facilities & Operations Services team.
What You Will Do
As the Sourcing Specialist you will be accountable individually, as a team member, and as a lead of projects and assignments involving Maintenance, Repair, and Operations (MRO). Encouraged to develop and complete sourcing strategies that meet or exceed operational, sustainability, and financial goals. Work with multiple levels of leadership and contributors primarily, but not exclusively, within the Disney Experiences segment. Come be part of this dynamic team!
The Sourcing Specialist priorities include:
- Development and execution of sound sourcing strategies that give to profitability and reduce the organizations total cost of ownership.
- Partner with supply base and internal clients to drive innovation, using new insights and technologies.
- Ensure the protection and improvement of the bran by mitigating risk exposure, ensuring safety standards are exceeded, and improving the insight to our supply chain.
- Build and maintain an inclusive environment that attracts, educates, cultivates, recognizes, retains, and listens to a diverse and hard-working team of Cast Members.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with the supply base.
- Ensure compliance to policies and procedures designed to mitigate risk, improve performance and protect/enhance the reputation of the Disney Company.
- Drive the company’s supplier inclusion strategy of broader utilization and increased spend
- Develop and implement a Supplier Sustainability program that identifies and implements sustainability oriented business practices, evaluates our supply bases for sustainability and delivers products and services whose life cycles have been taken into consideration.
- Pursue continuous improvement in the efficiency and effectiveness of our procedures and processes, with additional focus on workload simplification and workload elimination]
Develop and drive effective strategies by:
- Leading cross-functional sourcing projects that meet internal client’s requirements while adhering to Strategic Sourcing’s guiding principles.
- Understanding, analyzing, and assessing market industry trends and conditions that affect pricing, availability, lead-time, quality, etc.
- Prepare and complete clear, structured negotiations following pre-defined Strategic Sourcing methodology
- Ensure compliance with Strategic Sourcing standard processes.
- Communicate and report to leadership the status of any critical external relationships or market conditions that could adversely affect planning and decision-making.
- Understand and assist in the development and execution of supplier performance and relationship management programs that focus on quality, service responsiveness, financial benefit, and innovation.
- Assist with Annual Strategy Planning development and track progress against ASP
- Demonstrate outstanding integrity and ethics in all instances.
- Evaluate total cost / supply analysis to find opportunities to achieve optimal value and financial benefit.
- Participate in professional development activities to stay on top of current industry standard processes.
- Continually assess market conditions and develop sourcing strategies that increase value to Disney.
- Develop, implement, monitor and report status, performance measures that demonstrate value and ensure supplier performance.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- 1+ years’ experience in strategic sourcing / supply chain fields
- Familiarity with Strategic Sourcing/Procurement or Supply Chain Management/Logistics processes
- Proven track record to establish relationships/partnerships with partners and suppliers
- Written and verbal communication skills customizable to meet multiple audience needs (e.g., peers, clients, executives and suppliers)
- Strong relationship building skills to actively engage partners
- Ability to communicate, both written and orally, and can tailor messages appropriately to the audience
- Analytical critical thinking and problem solving skills to formulate calculations in support of recommendations.
- Strong negotiation skills
- Ability to collaborate in a team environment
- Internal customer focus – ability to identify/solicit key partner needs and develop solutions to address their needs
- Ability / desire to work in diverse environment
- Ability to deal with ambiguity
- Strong organizational and time management skills to manage multiple projects
- Competent in Microsoft Office Suite (esp. Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), SAP, Coupa, etc.
Preferred Qualifications
- Preferred experience in manufacturing environment and/or supporting Maintenance, Repair, & Operations (MRO).
- Knowledge of and the ability to understand, interpret and communicate: BLS Indexes, OPEC/FRED economic reports, Dunn & Bradstreet reports, etc.
- Ability to build highly compelling business cases
- Strong relationship management skills
- Ability to drive projects to conclusion
- Ability to collaborate on ideation and supplier innovation
- Ability to develop and sustain Supplier Relationship Management programs
Education
Minimum
Bachelor’s degree required in Business, Supply Chain, Finance, or other quantitative discipline; or equivalent job experience
Preferred
Master’s degree (i.e. MBA) or other quantitative discipline (i.e. MS), a plus
