About the Role & Team
The Dry Dock Integration Project Manager serves as the primary project planner, facilitator and coordinator for Disney Cruise Line’s Dry Dock team. The role works directly with Disney Cruise Line (DCL) Marine Technical Dry Dock team, DCL Operations teams, Walt Disney Imagineering (WDI) creative teams and other DCL partners to drive dry dock projects to completion. In this role you will be responsible for providing project scheduling, program management, analytical and communication support, aligning teams to deliver on project scope, schedule and budget throughout the project life cycle.
The role is operations focused and will ensure that processes run efficiently, and project objectives are fulfilled.
This position will be based in the Disney Cruise Line offices in London, with 4 days per week onsite required and requires frequent travel – incl. full presence during dry dock periods.
What You Will Do
Lead the planning and integration for Dry Dock projects across multiple work streams to drive scope delivery on time and on budget
Responsible for developing detailed project plans, organizing and coordinating tasks, resources, stakeholders and deliverables, providing deadlines, tracking and reporting for DCL Dry Dock project team.
Responsible for project managing the development and approval of dry dock project scope and budget including feasibility studies, value analytics, justification and prioritization.
Responsible for project managing and coordinating the detailed development phase ensuring operational, financial and compliance alignment.
Responsible for managing DCL project objectives and that the approved scope of work, including scope changes, remain within the established financial parameters and deviations are appropriately communicated and approved.
Manages the ship program and standards requirements, ensuring they are included in the design development of each project. Act as the key liaison between Walt Disney Imagineering & Disney Cruise Line partners during each stage of the design process.
Responsible for planning and coordinating pre and post dry dock operational readiness in conjunction with the ship. Attends dry dock on site with the project team to assist with the program management and to produce regular reports on area progress and planning for return to service operations.
Support and integrate with other teams such as terminal operations, vendor and cast berthing, dry dock logistics, environmental and safety
Develop and maintain venue tracking for various states of operational readiness - construction and outfitting, load-in and install, programming, training and rehearsals, and guest ready.
In partnership with Operations Integration team, coordinate the ship repositioning strategy with DCL operations.
Assist in coordinating the logistical planning of shipyard and DCL inaugural events (e.g. media cruise, shakedown and preview sailings, etc.).
Responsible for organizing work sessions, vendor meetings, and ship inspections.
Responsible for managing project documentation and implementing efficient internal processes
Prepare and lead regular project updates for a variety of different audiences such as internal operation leaders, external vendors and executive steering committee.
Maintain clear communication channels between all stakeholders and project teams to mitigate communication gaps throughout the project life cycle. Maintain close partnership alliances with DCL Integrators from all DCL departments
Facilitate and direct industrial engineering analysis and tool development as needed.
Track lessons learned throughout the project lifecycle and contribute to continuous improvement strategies.
Required Qualifications & Skills
Significant Project management experience, with project management of large hospitality newbuild or refurbishment projects
Operational experience supporting PMO activities for cruise line newbuilding or dry dock projects is strongly preferred
Leadership experience managing and influencing functional specialists and cross-functional teams
Proven ability coordinating stakeholders, resolving conflicts, finding solutions, team accountability and prioritization
Highly motivated self-starter able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced work environment
Demonstrated strong verbal, written, presentation and public speaking skills
Demonstrated problem solving and continuous improvement process skills.
Proven ability to initiate, organize, prioritize, take, and provide direction, and complete multiple tasks in a timely manner.
Ability to be flexible with work schedule, including weekends and holidays and to travel abroad for meetings and dry dock attendance.
Ability to undertake supervisory work at shipyards, ship building or vendor construction sites and during dry docking periods.
