We lead with a Business Architecture framework and own Core Finance function domain technology roadmap.

The Sr. Software Engineer for Core Finance will be a part of the Core Systems & Platforms team within the Enterprise Technology organization.  This role will be part of a finance transformation journey and contribute to the program, with the goal of delivering on time, on budget, on function.

You will have the opportunity to be part of a team responsible for supporting our finance transformation.  Initially, you will be part of the SAP ECC transition to S/4 Hana and its technology conversion leveraged by all TWDC segments and lines of business including, DPEP, Disney Entertainment, and Corporate functions.

The candidate must be able to work at the strategic program level and at the tactical project level. The successful candidate will need to mitigate risk while delivering quality throughout the process. Flexibility and the ability to prioritize in a changing business environment will also be key. This Sr. Software Engineer position is a critical technology role, responsible for designinSr.g and developing software in Finance technology platforms with focus on SAP Integrations between the larger finance ecosystem.

This is an estimated 12-month project hire placement, with no guarantee of permanent placement.

Specifically, this role will be responsible for developing software for:

  • Payroll
  • Source to Pay
  • Acquire to Retire (Fixed Assets)
  • General Accounting
  • Lease Accounting
  • HANA Sidecar
  • SAP Business Warehouse
  • Numerous other 3rd party applications

Responsibilities:  

  • Design, develop and test high performance, highly scalable and flexible software solutions with focus on SAP S/4  integrations between internal and external systems
  • Oversee technical coding changes and ensure they are to Disney standard and the appropriate syntax for performance on a large-scale ERP system
  • Make recommendations on technical decisions for complex development scenarios requiring transformation from existing processes
  • Translate business requirements to integration design specification
  • Understand interdependencies of development changes, along with impacts to other cast members workstreams, and clearly communicate these impacts.
  • Oversees the requirements process; ensures traceability of high-level requirements throughout the program
  • Participates in data analysis activities as needed
  • Manage delivery by vendor resources, driving toward on time, on budget, and on function outcomes
  • Ensures effective, proactive and open communications, horizontally and vertically, in order to achieve transparency and clarity of program goals, progress and issues
  • Supports and actively works to create a healthy work team environment- bringing a measured response along with transparency and discipline to active discussions and communications
  • Ability to document and understand complex integration pipelines from 100s of different systems across the globe

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software, Electrical or Electronics Engineering, or comparable field of study and equivalent work experience
  • Minimum of 5 years of related work experience
  • Experience in Technology engineering roles for large/enterprise software companies including financial, technical, and business stakeholder executive facilitation
  • Proven experience in managing and validating vendors’ work done on SAP applications
  • Strong understanding of data governance and data messaging platforms including Cloud
  • Experience with SAP ECC
  • Experience with SAP IDOCs
  • Experience with Web Service integration
  • Experience creating and modifying SAP jobs (SM37)
  • Experience with large data ERPs and understanding the performance impacts when writing code
  • Can quickly learn new processes and understand the impacts of development changes to internal and external processes
    Experience with SAP S/4 a plus
  • Experience writing ABAP programming language on HANA a plus
  • Experience with Fiori and SAP Enterprise Portal a plus
  • Experience with SAP BW and SAP BCS a plus

Strong understanding and experience with:

  • Experienced in “Data” projects using Agile, Iterative and/or Waterfall SDLC Methodologies
  • Experienced in extracting and documenting data and analytic requirements, working across all levels of users from senior executives to analysts
  • Track record of taking ownership and driving results
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with strong writing and speaking skills
  • Ability to think both strategically and tactically with good attention to detail
  • Demonstrated ability to execute delivery on large programs with multiple projects - prioritization, planning and task delegation
  • Proven experience in participating in complex technical projects with complexity across stakeholders, multi-functional teams, requirements, and implementations.
  • Ability to think logically, communicate clearly, and be well organized

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with SAP S/4
  • Experience with ETL Tools like SAP middleware.
  • POSTMAN software experience
  • Managing SAP BDC Sessions
  • Effectively partners with vendors to understand their approach to new solutions, architectural standards, and frameworks
  • Experience with SAP BCS

    The hiring range for this position in Florida is $$129,600.00 to $173,800.00 per year and in California is $136,038 to $182,490 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
