The Ad Sales Finance team is seeking a Financial Analyst to join the team for digital ad sales support for Disney+ US and DTC Consolidation. This is an outstanding opportunity to be part of the newest growth product and segment for the company as on a global scale. This team works closely with Disney Ad Sales Revenue and Yield Management (RYM), Research, and Technology teams to deliver strategic, financial and operational insights and goals of the global DTC business.

Job Summary:

The Financial Analyst will partner with the Ad Sales Finance Disney+ and Hulu leads to prepare consolidated views of budgets, forecasts, and strategic financial plans. Provide recurring reporting across the Disney+ business and overall Direct-to-Consumer business on a weekly basis vs. current forecast. The role will assist in the consolidation of the overall DTC business. Assist in cross-portfolio analysis and insights into digital growth initiatives.

A successful candidate will have the aptitude to efficiently implement routine tasks, advance analysis of the business, optimally work cross-functionally, and contribute to key initiatives.

This role relies on critical thinking to build knowledge of the streaming ad sales business. The ideal candidate will be able to optimally partner with and clearly communicate between the ad sales, technology, and finance organizations. An analytical attitude to drive business insights and recommendations with quantifiable impact is needed to thrive in this fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities and Duties of the Role:

Support consolidated monthly forecasting model. Collect input for ad revenue for each forecast cycle to incorporate in model, Combine applicable inputs to produce total DTC view of forecast and provide variances. Review output with Disney+ and Hulu ad sales finance leads to ensure accuracy & gain additional context on individual business drivers to advise overall DTC narrative.

Prepare weekly Disney+ US KPI pacing report. Provide additional commentary to support week-over-week variances & vs. AOP/FC, as needed. Own and maintain all aspects of weekly reporting file, including incorporating necessary updates. Work with Finance Manager to actualize all important metrics after month-end close to load in financial model.

Prepare weekly pacing report: consolidate data for Disney+ US and Hulu for DTC total engagement, impressions and ad revenue vs. AOP & FC. Provide day-to-day support to Ad Sales Finance Manager of Disney+ US. Assist with the development and maintenance of Disney+ US financial model, month-end/quarter-end financial close process, ad-hoc requests and data investigation, etc.

Establish and maintain essential relationships with the Hulu ad sales finance team and other Hulu/DTC stakeholders. Collaborate with stakeholders to provide further insight into DTC trends and pro-actively identify risks and opportunities; support data analysis, data reconciliation and data automation; work with BI to construct innovative dashboards and reinvent existing tools and consolidate ad hoc requests as the business begins to transition to an overall DTC lens.

Provide consolidation support to Senior Financial Analyst of Disney+ Canada and Global Consolidation. Assist in the compilation of any Disney+ global or DTC global view where metrics are needed for monthly or historical actuals.

Required Education, Experience/Skills/Training:

  • 0-2 years experience in a corporate finance / business analytics role ad sales experience is a plus.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially using formulas for modeling and quantitative data analysis in Excel.

  • Proven analytical abilities – capable of using data tools to drive decision-making and handling large pools of data. Experience using Snowflake or similar database to acquire and manipulate large amounts of data and proficiency in one or more scripting languages (SQL, python, etc.) to support ad-hoc analysis is a plus, but not required

  • Ability to extract information and communicate how specific details impact the big picture to produce concise, effective, and visually appealing presentations.

  • Acute attention to detail and skills for troubleshooting data discrepancies.

  • Strong work ethic with intellectual curiosity and an eagerness to proactively tackle problems by thinking outside-the-box.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact at all levels of the organization and form relationships with business partners internally and externally.

  • Daring spirit to continue innovating and making valuable contributions.

  • Experience using SAP, COGNOS, or similar financial reporting tool is a plus.

  • Bachelor’s degree required; in Finance, Accounting or Economics

The hiring range for this position in Santa Monica, CA is $85,800 to $104,800 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
