Job Summary:

The Disney Entertainment segment includes the company’s full portfolio of entertainment media and content businesses globally, including streaming.

The Digital Marketing team oversees creative and programming of Disney Entertainment’s Made-for-Kid (MFK) YouTube channels. The team is responsible for content development and production, channel strategy, program planning, publishing and channel operations. Additionally, this team works closely with Brand and Franchise, Studios, Consumer Products, Governance, Legal, and Finance. The team manages channel operations and is responsible for adhering to TWDC and YouTube MFK policies. 

The Senior Manager, Digital Marketing will support The Disney Entertainment Digital Marketing team in executing MFK YouTube channel creative strategies.

The Senior Manager should be well-versed in the YouTube ecosystem, with solid experience in digital content development and production. The role requires oversight and hands-on involvement to shepherd content development through production and to delivery within budget and on-time. Identifying relevant formats, trends and best practices is key to developing on-brand, kid-friendly, thumb/scroll-stopping content. The role will oversee channel content planning such that content production and delivery schedules must align to meet content programming calendars in support franchise priority timelines.

The role requires an understanding and appreciation of TWDC brands and franchises so that the content produced upholds brand standards such as voice, style and tone and delivers upon expectations set forth by the Digital Marketing team. The senior manager should expect to partner with Brand and other creative stakeholders who have an interest in the MFK YouTube segment of growing the kid’s business.

The Senior Manager will collaborate with LOBs such as Brand, Franchise and Consumer Products to ensure their MFK YouTube short-form content supports strategies, aligns with larger company-wide goals, and is geared towards global audience growth.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead development and production of evergreen, short-form video content for MFK YouTube channels (VOD and derivative YT Shorts) and within budget
  • Manage content planning to align production and delivery of final assets with programming calendars in support of franchise priorities timelines
  • Uphold and adhere to brand guidelines when creating content, ensuring videos are consistently kid-friendly and on-brand in voice, style, and tone
  • Collaborate with Brand, Franchise, Consumer Productions and Digital Marketing teams throughout content lifecycle to ensure content delivers upon expectations
  • Route all assets to necessary stakeholders for internal approval (Legal, Brand & Franchise, etc.)
  • Develop and produce content that can travel internationally in support of the brand/franchise strategies and priorities
  • Manage a team dedicated to executing the MFK YouTube channel strategies
  • Content Development & Production
    • Manage content development and production through to final delivery
    • Deliver content on-time and on-budget
    • Produce content that support TWDC and cross-LOB priorities
    • Develop and maintain creative slate that aligns to core Brand, Franchise & YouTube business goals for the MFK audience
  • Global Stakeholder Management
    • Liaise with international, internal partners to create content that can travel outside the US and positively impact the global business
    • Act as a creative consultant for brands and franchises under remit for partners creating digital content
    • Collaborate with Digital Strategy & Programming team on content publishing rollouts and stakeholder requests

Basic Qualifications:

  • 7+ years’ relevant experience with content development and production, preferably in digital 
  • 3+ years’ experience managing teams and the professional development of professionals
  • Experience in shortform content development and production for primarily animation but live action a plus
  • Passion for kid-friendly content and story-telling
  • Outstanding project management, organization, presentation and communication skills
  • Proficient in Keynote/PowerPoint, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Premiere
  • Strong understanding of social media platforms and trends, specifically YouTube
  • Team player with strong work ethic and ability to be nimble
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a matrixed organization
  • Efficient with time with the ability to meet deadlines and self-direct time management
  • Solid understanding and interest in YouTube and social media platforms

Preferred Qualifications:

  • AA or BA in Digital Marketing, Marketing or business admin/relevant degree preferred
  • Familiarity and knowledge of Disney Brands a plus

The hiring range for this position in Burbank, CA is $123,000 to $165,000 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
