Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic professional to lead our team as the Director of Media Research, Measurement, and Audience Advancement. In this multifaceted role, you will drive the strategic direction of our media advertising research initiatives, encompassing vendor discovery, review, and eventually onboarding. The role requires a background in data (methodological reviews and analytics), experience with the media marketplace (alternative currencies, media planning, and audience insights) and knowledge of systems (operations, automation). The ideal candidate will bring extensive knowledge of media advertising, a deep understanding of industry trends, direct experience with streaming, and a proven ability to deliver actionable insights.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership:

Develop and execute comprehensive strategies for media advertising research, measurement, and audience advancement.

Provide visionary leadership to stay ahead of industry trends and advancements.

Streamline internal operations related to media advertising research and measurement.

Integrate automation solutions into reporting processes and workflow for enhanced efficiency.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, sales, and product development.

Communicate research findings, operational updates, and audience insights effectively to stakeholders.

Lead and develop Media Research, Measurement, and Audience Advancement team.

Vendor Onboarding and Management:

Identify and evaluate new vendors to enhance research capabilities.

Review new and vet existing methodologies from vendors.

Establish strong partnerships with vendors, ensuring seamless onboarding processes.

Stay informed about industry developments related to alternative currencies in media advertising.

Implement and optimize the use of alternative currencies for a holistic view of campaign performance.

Reach and Frequency Management:

Oversee the optimization of reach and frequency metrics across various media channels.

Develop strategies for efficient reach and frequency management.

Work closely with media planning teams to optimize audience targeting across channels.

Collaborate with digital and traditional media specialists for effective audience approaches.

Audience Research and Segmentation:

Lead initiatives for in-depth audience research and segmentation, inclusive of advanced audience.

Align audience strategies with overall business objectives through collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Utilize advanced data science techniques for extracting insights from large datasets.

Collaborate with data scientists to drive enhanced metrics and performance for advertisers.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in media advertising research and measurement, encompassing vendor management, data science, currency measurement, and audience analyses.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience managing teams.
  • Direct experience with streaming platforms
  • Proven expertise in operations optimization and automation.
  • In-depth knowledge of reach and frequency metrics and their application in advertising.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree in relevant field. National TV experience preferred, Local TV experience is additive.
  • Can demonstrate advanced work experience in entertainment, streaming TV and/or digital publishing landscapes.

The hiring range for this position in New York, NY is $167,100.00 to $229,600.00 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
