Sr Manager-Technology- Software Engineer

Job Summary:
Disney Experiences is seeking an Sr. Manager of Technology within Software Engineering who has passion for leading the delivery and execution of various projects in the roadmap of advancing our core commerce platform. We are looking for someone that will lead other Managers of Technology employing teams of engineers, product managers and data analysts and collaborate with other business and tech teams to develop, deliver, and maintain mission critical applications.
You Will:
- Lead and mentor technology managers accountable for high performing delivery teams of full stack software engineers, web developers, application architects, product managers, scrum masters and data analysts.
- An employee at this level provides leadership to a team of manager and professional level employees. Responsible for developing departmental plans (including business/organizational priorities) and accountable for the performance and results of multiple related teams. Makes decisions that are guided by resource availability and functional objectives.
- Partner with senior leaders and executives to create and maintain the technology roadmap that allows for optimal maintenance of current portfolio and delivery of future capabilities.
- Collaborate with other tech teams and businesses across sites for project deliverables.
- Technical leadership and oversight of implementation, system integration, quality testing, operations, and sustainability of technical solutions.
- Deliverables are typically large or highly complex software systems includes services and back-office user interfaces in addition to digital optimization (a/b/n) testing of customer facing web and mobile app experiences.
- In depth knowledge of current programming languages and technologies, cloud solutions and DevSecOps practices.
- May interact with users to define system requirements and/or necessary modifications.
- Code may either be used in commercial and end-user applications or may focus on software and tools in support of infrastructure and technology platforms.
Required Skills and Experience:
- 10+ years of development experience, preferably full stack.
- Additional 7+ years managing engineering and technology delivery teams.
- Demonstrated knowledge and working experience with highly-scalable architectures, patterns, and technologies.
- Experience in A/B/n optimization testing strategies, methodologies, technologies, success metrics.
- Experience in data science based systems.
- Experience creating architecture designs that incorporate resiliency and performance.
- Experience managing a globally distributed delivery team utilizing Agile methodologies.
- Good troubleshooting skills for triaging problems in production and test environments
- Success at achieving sophisticated technology goals on-time and on-budget.
- Ability to navigate complex organizations across both technology and business teams.
- Excellent written and verbal communications, proven ability to develop and deliver presentations for Executive Management.
- Proven experience managing software development lifecycle platforms and tools.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in the commerce space and products / pricing / inventory domains
- Experience in travel and hospitality/hotel industries
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s in computer science, engineering, information systems, or related field/work experience.
